Who Owns Highfile?
Highfile is owned and operated as a privately run project. Founded in 2022 and built on 10 years of experience, we publish templates and guidance created by an in-house team that includes writers, editors, researchers, template engineers, and designers.
When a topic benefits from field input, we consult qualified professionals to review important details and confirm that the guidance reflects accurate real-world documentation and compliance expectations. Those collaborations are used for accuracy and clarity, not for promotion.
How We Fund Our Work
Running Highfile has ongoing costs, including research time, writing and editing, template design and testing, website infrastructure, and routine maintenance. Funding comes from a mix of revenue sources that keep the site sustainable while keeping editorial decisions in-house.
Where revenue is involved, we keep it straightforward.
- Advertising appears as clearly labeled ad placements that are separate from editorial content.
- Paid downloads or memberships may be available for certain resources. Access decisions are made by our team and do not change the standards we use for accuracy, usability, and review.
- Affiliate or partner relationships may appear on some pages. When they do, we label them so readers can recognize them.
Commitment to Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the Highfile team. Advertisers, partners, and other outside parties do not choose topics, approve drafts, or influence what we publish.
Our workflow is designed to keep templates practical in real settings. Engineers define what each template is meant to capture, what fields belong in it, and how it should function when someone fills it out. Designers then translate that guidance into layout decisions that match the context of use, including typography, spacing, section order, and visual emphasis. Colors and design elements are selected with the engineer’s guidance based on where the template is commonly used, how it is printed or shared, and what improves readability without adding distraction.
