The Weekly Gantt Chart Template is crafted to help you efficiently organize and track projects by focusing on weekly intervals. To begin, select the project lead from the top bar to personalize the chart and establish clear leadership roles. In the Settings tab, you can define your team members, making it easy to assign tasks and manage roles throughout the project.
Once you enter the project’s start date, the Gantt chart automatically adjusts the weeks to align with this information. Each week starts on a Monday, and the “Navigate to Week” field at the top lets you jump to specific weeks whenever needed.
The template is divided into four main phases, which can be expanded by adding additional fields if you need more phases. Tasks within each phase can be color-coded to enhance visual clarity. By using the drop-down menu in the first column, you can assign a unique color to each task. If you modify colors in the Settings tab, make sure to update the conditional formatting to maintain consistency. These color-coded sections provide a clear and intuitive view of each task’s progress and status.
When assigning tasks, the “Assignee” tab lets you easily select team members from the predefined list in the Settings tab. To set up tasks, simply input the start date and duration (such as 5 or 7 days), and the finish date will automatically be calculated to reduce manual errors.
The chart visually represents each task’s duration with colored bars, reflecting the colors chosen in the first column. This layout offers a clear visualization of each task’s timeframe within the weekly schedule. A dedicated column for completion percentages helps track progress. By entering these percentages, the template calculates average progress and duration for each task in the chart’s calendar, presenting an accurate picture of your project’s current status.
For a summary, the template displays average task durations and completion percentages for each phase, keeping you informed about overall progress. This organized structure is particularly useful for managing complex projects, such as product development, construction, or other detailed initiatives.
The Weekly Gantt Chart Template is available in both Excel and Google Sheets formats, allowing you to customize it online or directly within Excel for effective project management.
