To get started, you can input the lead and start date, which will automatically adjust the Gantt chart, displaying a calendar with a four-week view. You can scroll through the weeks using scroll buttons or changing the week number in the ‘Navigate to Week’ cell in the header to preview any number of upcoming weeks, with four weeks shown by default.
Each task and phase of the construction project is automated. By adding phases and adjusting start dates and durations, the chart will reflect these changes on the calendar. Additionally, you can track project progress by entering the percentage of completion, allowing you to easily compare actual progress with scheduled timelines.
The basic settings, such as color themes, team members, and task priorities, can be customized in the “Settings” sheet. You can assign different colors to each phase by either referencing codes in the settings sheet or using a dropdown menu in the very first cell in the task table for easy color selection.
This template is designed to keep things simple by breaking down big projects into smaller milestones and is fully functional in both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
