You can start by entering the project’s start date, and the calendar will adjust automatically, breaking down the timeline by weeks. Each week starts on Monday, and the template clearly marks each month alongside the dates, so you can navigate the progress by days, weeks, or months. To switch between different weeks, days, or months, you can use the “Navigate to Week” cell to enter the week number you want to navigate to. For example, if your project start date is 22 November 2095, entering 2 in this cell will take you to the 2nd week starting from 18th November.
The template’s header provides a concise project overview, covering essential details such as the project manager’s name, total number of tasks, overall project duration, and the expected finish date.
Customization is quick and easy with this template. You can use the settings sheet to apply a specific color theme for the entire project or assign different colors to individual tasks. Assigning color to individual tasks is helpful for breaking down tasks into phases, with each phase having its own color. This approach helps differentiate between phases and their related tasks, simplifying project tracking.
Tasks are automatically highlighted on the calendar when you enter the start date and duration for each one. You also have the option to add comments or specific notes for individual tasks in the comments section, helping you capture important details.
This basic schedule template is customizable in both Google Sheets and Excel, allowing you to adjust it according to the needs of your project.
